The architectural firm of Wimberly Allison Tong &Goo (WATG) has designed more of the world's great hotels and resorts than any other firm on the planet - on six continents and in more than 150 countries. WATG has standardised on Autodesk Revit Building and Autodesk Buzzsaw online project collaboration service. As a result, the firm has seen significant increases in both productivity and profitability and has completed almost 50 major projects with the new software.

Driven by the move towards collaborative working among clients, architectural practice MRP has adopted a formal policy to switch from Bentley MicroStation to Autodesk products. It is currently standardising on AutoCAD® throughout the partnership - and is also carrying out an in-depth evaluation of Autodesk® Revit®.

The purchase of 126 seats of AutoCAD and 59 of AutoCAD LT® (all replacing Microstation) means there will no longer be compatibility issues when exchanging DWG files between other architects and subcontractors, who predominately use AutoCAD or AutoCAD-based software.

MRP is currently undertaking a major review of its CAD standards and processes. "Once the standards are implemented, everyone will be working on the same platform at all of our offices. That action alone will generate considerable savings," says Mark Simpson, MRP IT manager.
